Executive Committee ballot
Letter to members
Dear Fellow Members,
I served as an Executive Committee Member from 2009 to 2012, and had the privilege of serving as Hon. Treasurer of our great institution in 2010–11. Like you, I love our Club and take great pride in being its member.
I take even greater pride representing our institution in inter-club sporting events, where I hear people take the name of our Club — the Cricket Club of India — with reverence and awe. We must all come together as one and maintain the CCI name we have inherited. That is what has reinforced my commitment to serve this Club again.
By profession I bring a combination of real estate and finance: I have worked with reputed firms in New York and Mumbai and closed investments across the United States and Europe worth over $1 billion, and I am a Designated Partner of the Vaswani Group and Hon. Secretary of NCPA Apartments, Nariman Point.
Where my judgement comes from
An MSc in Real Estate Development from Columbia, an MBA in Finance and Investments from Baruch College, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Mumbai — which is why I read a plan and a balance sheet the same way.
My contributions to the Club
- Hon. Treasurer. Modernised the accounting system by introducing Tally — better efficiency, accountability and transparency — and ensured prudent, optimal investment of the Club corpus in high-quality assets.
- Executive Committee Member, 2009–12. The highest standards of governance, with decisions taken solely on members’ best interests.
- Badminton Sub-Committee — Vice Chairman. Re-introduced the popular Badminton Annual Handicap Tournament and other member-friendly tournaments.
- Inter-club tournaments. Coordinated successful tournaments with clubs across the city.
- Balloting Committee — Member.
What I want to do for you
- A Master Plan to augment the infrastructure at CCI, addressing three things by name:
- Parking shortages.
- Catering — a modern, efficient and hygienic kitchen.
- Pickleball and padel — additional courts, planned and structured.
- Integrity and transparency in every decision, and an environment of mutual respect and harmony where every member feels at home.
- An empowered administration. Let the administration carry out the operational duties, while the Executive Committee frames, reviews and approves the Club’s rules, regulations and policies.
- Sub-committees of members who use the facility, kept limited and manageable in size — so they understand and address the real problems of their department.
Thank you, and I look forward to your support always.
Warm regards,
